[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign welcome to the Naked Satanist. The show consists views from a left leaning libertarian and a US military veteran. Reverend Jeff Ivins may be a member of the Church of Satan, but his views are not representative of the Church of Satan or any other entity. And welcome to the Naked Satanist. This is episode four and set my reading material off to the side for a second. I wanted to address something here. I do not believe in sacred cows or so if you follow me on Facebook you'll see I poke fun at Trump. I poke fun. I kind of poked fun at the Charlie Kirk thing, but because to me they're all sacred cows. There's sacred cows to the left and they're sacred cows to the right. I have more fun poking the right than I do the left because the left sometimes don't have the. I guess you could say I. The humor sometimes just overlaps and it. And. But. But neither one of them have any humor. So with that being said, what is this episode consisting of? The Importance of Keeping a Secret now, as many of you know that I'm a. I served in the US military in the intelligence operandi, I guess you can say. And keeping secrets is a very important thing. Just telling somebody you're a Satanist is letting a secret out. So I'm gonna go ahead and read this is from the Devil's notebook, page 89 or not 89, 39, 89. My mind's shot. And this is the chapter the importance of keeping a Secret. I'm gonna read some of it and then I'll inject some stuff as I'm going through it. And I quote secrets are power. When you are. When you divulge a secret you barter that potential power of your hidden knowledge for a the fleeting ego boost that comes with its revelation. It is a natural urge. You want to impress others by disclosing something thought to be of value. Especially when its self esteem is weaking is weak or waning. The disclosure is made up are the disclosure is made to one up someone else. There are four kinds of secrets. The first kind assures the teller of its continued application without giving the game away. Every now concert pianist can reveal with relative security secrets of his keyboard technique to a man who has never touched a piano as the same pianist confides in escap confides in escapade in the bushes with a nine year old boy. However, the most unaccomplished acquaintance suddenly has power over him. The latter revelation is the second type of secret. The the quote unquote skeleton in the closet Secret which often enables one to wield power over another, regardless of social, mental or economic differences. Employed for for financial gain or it constitutes extortion, welding or wielding as a means of control. It is merely vampiristic ego subsistence. Unfortunately, a guarded principle is often used by persons of scant accomplishments. Hence the stringent security maintained by innovators and investors. This is the third type of secret. Unlike the second variety, the revelation of which can undermine the statue of the teller. The third will allow any novice to duplicate that which has been formerly limited to the savant. The guy who finds that he can double his car's mileage by dropping an inexpensive capsule in his gas tank is a classic example. Such procedures are inevitably discovered rather than imparted. A simple formula is far less likely to be revealed than the complex one. But the simplest formulas are usually the most elusive. The fourth variety of secret is that employed in interrogation and espionage techniques. The revealing of useless piece of information in order to elicit a valid disclosure. In other words, an exchange of worthless item for a genuine one. To sum up the foregoing, first type of secret is safe to reveal, but better to conceal. The second type is certain to undermine the subject by its telling. Third variety will allow you to recover the duplicate. The duplicate of what the Heller has done. The force is a trick of lesser or manipulative magic preying upon the prudent or lacarnious nature. The holder of a valid secret possesses a tangible viable commodity. Therefore wields the upper hand over those who lack his his knowledge. Awareness of the treasure gives him confidence and strength that will project to others even if he does not employ the secret is readily ready. Accessibility contributes to its secure to his security. Children soon find out that they can elicit attention attention and candy from other children by announcing I've got a secret. Now, I just read the first part of that because if you turn around and you keep. Yeah, I'm out about who I am, you know, I'm a Satanist, I'm a reverend, I'm a priest in the Church of Satan. I'm a bisexual man, I'm this, I'm that. But the. I do that because I take away somebody using generic, I guess you can say generic identifiers to limit what they can do in interrogation. I've got secrets that the government has told me and I have sworn never to discuss, nor will I. Now, if you sit there, there's four types of secrets and we'll worry about that later. The main point about keeping a secret sometimes, you know, do you really Want to flash your bath from it? I keep the sulfur symbol prevalent. I, I wear it all the time. You know, the, the Vang Cross people ask me what it, what it means. I said I just like the design because the majority of the people don't need to know I'm a Satanist. But if it comes up, I tell them I don't care because then that. And if they say, well if you don't tell me this, I'm going to tell everybody. Go ahead. Secrets can be fleeting and you just do not want to tell people that. You do not want. When you basically when you hide a certain portion of who you are or what you are from the masses, you're giving them power. When they find out they have the, they have control over you. Now I say that in a way you have to balance. You have to have balance to, to know what secrets you can reveal, which is first type. And those of us that be affected by the fourth type, well, we learn to deal with that. Now there is a reason I decided to do about secrets. It's mainly because I know some people that are very. You can find people that are very, very religious and if they find out you're a Satanist, they, they will tell, they will run to tell everybody. So select few people know I'm a Satanist where, where I hang out at, I tell, tell people in confidence and so far those people don't really care and it never comes back up. So you got to be a good judge of character. And it happens that I don't tell. You shouldn't tell somebody that you just met. Oh, I'm an active member of the Church of Satan or I'm a warlock in the Church of Satan or I'm just a member of the Church of Satan. Well, unfortunately some people's desire to have that secret over you because you don't tell everybody or you don't, you're not open about it gets to, gets played into your, their control over you. Now I know this is not going to be a long episode. See here I'm sitting here just trying to figure something out and man, I'm telling you sometimes this, this is, I'm gonna take a, take a short break and I'll be right back. And I'm, I, like I said, this is going to be a very short episode because I don't want, I don't want the, I want to go over some other things at another time and this is not really a good time to start this. So I've got some other topics I'm going to want to discuss later, but I did want to get this secret one out of the way back and get back into the doing this. So let's take a short break and we will get back talking about the means in which is securing a secret. So we'll go ahead and do that. It's embracing the life enriching things which have traditionally been given the Devil's name. Pride, lust, earthly success, rational self interest, atheism, humor, non conformity science, a passion for living, being selective about whom we love. We don't see these as shameful sins, but empowering ideals. And we also recognize the psychological power and fun of symbolism and aesthetics. So we utilize Satan as mythology's most fitting mascot for what we're about. [00:14:53] Speaker A: Listen to Satan Splain. Like I said, this is episode four of the Naked Satanist and therefore main way the means of ensuring that a secret will be kept. And there's four ways of doing this. One is out of fear, another one is ostracism. Ridicule is the third one and fourth one is silence. And let's start with the first one is this. The threat of dire consequences should the secret be revealed is the most common means to keep somebody a secret. Like I said, if there's a couple people where I'm at the I'm with the Legion, the Inferno Legion, the American Legion and vets. And if somebody found out that I was a Satanist, like I would care, they would bring it up to me and said, you know, whatever. So I strike that one down. But there are some things that I will not discuss, one of which is my military secrets. That's the fear of going to Leavenworth. I'm not going there. Ostracism is a very real threat. To work, the keeper of the secret must place no small amount of dependency upon the fellowship of his comrade provides. Fraternal groups employ this deterrent, especially in communities where ostracism can mean business laws additional to social rejection. Generally, if you let a secret out, like the Freemasons or what the Nigerians think the Illuminati are, you know, we're part of the Illuminati and stuff like that and we won't give out our secrets because we're all rich. But basically it's, we all know that there's no such thing as the Illuminati, not in this day and age. But if they are, they're very secretive. Third one is ridicule. The secret is far fetched and padded with the same asinine antics. Many will think twice about revealing it. At least their listeners look down on them for their lunacy ridicule. Basically saying, well, I dated. You know, you're just in conversation and you say oh yeah, I dated such and such, huh? You would think that's a secret, but no, it's just people will look at you funny and say you're, you're stupid. And the other one is silence. The most effective way to ensure secrecy is not to divulge a secret in the first place. The greatest magical secrets are those that if told, would alienate the listener from the teller. If a magician would respect a student enough to divulge such secrets, he would not wish to alienate him. Consequently, such secrets are never told. They are only discovered. The fact that discovery is a desirable human occurrence ensures it's can drive juice as a means of exploitation and control. And let's just say we have in, in that chapter in The Devil's Notebook, Dr. Lavey mentions the Easter egg hunt. A man or woman, or both, hide Easter eggs and the kids go out and discover. It's basically the same ploy as the, the last way of, you know, them discovering the secrets. So. But that. Then again, we shall see. So my tips for you, you don't always have to flag your baffame all the time. Sometimes you tuck it away or use something that's not so, quote unquote obvious. Make people wonder. And like I said, when somebody found out that what my software symbol meant, they're like oh really? And I'm like is that what it is? And I'm like just, I just, I say it's the tree of Life. It's got the infinity symbol and it's tree. But I do do divulge some other stuff. Like, you know, the witches at in Salem witch trials had this symbol placed on their graves, even though they weren't really witches, they were just cute or just old hags or somebody that somebody had a gripe against. My next episode, I'm going to go ahead. I'm going to address some social issues that I see going on. What I see going on, and we'll go from there. Hopefully it's not going to take me months to do it because I've got so much other going on two radio stations and stuff like that and podcasts on Radio Free Satan and doing adjunct work at the Legion and calm stuff at the Inferno Legion. So until next time, I'll come up with something a little bit better, a little bit more cohesive or a little bit more, I guess you can say, a little bit more professional. Next episode, I'm gonna get back to doing what I do, doing what I do. And I hope you guys listen in right here on the Naked Satanist. I see you guys later. Bye.
